As we approach the winter season it’s important to consider what’s most apparent, the season. As the years go on, around the world people have been experiencing a fluctuation in weather patterns that have only increased at an alarming rate. Additionally, this also disrupts the species living in these areas where they are already threatened with extinction from exterior factors. With the holiday season approaching, more than a million tons of additional waste is created each week between Thanksgiving and New Years. The most important question from here on is, in what way are you contributing to the problem? When you shop, where is your money going? If you follow the trail, where does it lead? Does it lead to workers who are happy and healthy and can afford to support themselves? Does the company you are supporting support you back? Would you donate funds to an organization actively working against your best interests? If not, why would you spend money with companies that don’t have your best interest at heart? We are all victims to it but it is clear now, more than ever, that immediate conservation and preservation action is needed to protect the planet and all forms of life on it. Today we wanted to highlight Protect Our Winters, an organization founded by Jeremy Jones who’s efforts provide an alternative perspective that de-politicizes climate discussion––and an industry with an economic impact that can’t be ignored.
